PRAIRIE LINE TRAIL
Located right in the heart of Tacoma, this unique, mile-long park follows the historic Prairie Line Railroad corridor, adding public art installations, multimedia features and peaceful green spaces to the city's otherwise urban center. Begin at the trail's south entrance just a couple of short blocks from J|F and experience the artistic and informative journey through the area's history, then emerge at the north end to find the Tacoma Art Museum. This bike-friendly (and dog-friendly) path is also a great shortcut between J|F and downtown, passing through the UW Tacoma campus on the way.
TACOMA DOME

You've likely heard of it already, but if you're new to town, get ready to get excited — because having this fantastic event venue just a short walk away is amazing in more ways than one! You'll see all the latest events on their massive exterior sign or online calendar, ranging from local community events to world-famous entertainers (hosting up to 21,000 guests). You'll also love being this close to the Tacoma Dome station, one of the area's most major transit hubs, where many different train, light rail and bus lines connect. Buzz downtown, commute up to Seattle, travel across the country — and even beyond — via the extensive network of routes converging at this station.
POINT DEFIANCE PARK, ZOO & AQUARIUM

Offering 760 acres of stunning beaches, trails, gardens and the only combined zoo and aquarium in the Pacific Northwest, you'll find more than a day's worth of activities at Point Defiance. For outdoor enthusiasts, the famous "5 Mile Drive" is a beautifully scenic trail loop for running, biking or just a leisurely walk. Experience the countless species of wildlife that call this unique space home, explore the historic Fort Nisqually, head out fishing via the Owen Beach marina or just soak up some sun near the boardwalk. MUSEUM OF GLASS
1801 Dock Street
Home of many famous Chihuly pieces and centered right at the Foss Waterway, the Museum of Glass has become a major landmark for the city of Tacoma. Enjoy walking over the glass bridge on your way from Jefferson Flats into the museum, where you can watch artists blow glass live, admire countless beautiful art exhibits and grab a bite at the museum's new farm-to-table restaurant, Incalmo.
TACOMA NIGHT MARKET

If you enjoy local crafts, art, music and food, you'll find something new to love at each Tacoma Night Market. This weekly+ event brings together some of the best artist and creatives in the city under one roof, where you're sure to meet some amazing community members and leave with one-of-a-kind purchases (or experiences). The Market has a consistent presence in the heart of Downtown Tacoma, but hosts pop-ups in other locations around the area. There are many amazing food/drink options just steps away from J|F, but one of our top favorites is Wooden City, located at the end of Pacific Ave. Known for their amazing wood-fired menu and craft cocktails, you'll love the unique blend of comfort food and "foodie" — with an atmosphere to match. Cozy but classy. It's a great spot for parties of any size, whether you're looking for a date night, late-night happy hour with friends, a private event on their outdoor deck, or just to stop by for a pint of one of their rotating draft beers.
7 SEAS BREWING

7 Seas is steps away from J|F and is in the heart of the Brewery District, serving up locally crafted beers, specialty coffee drinks, delicious pub fare, fresh seafood and even pinball! Their modern, industrial-style taproom is a great spot to enjoy their latest creations or long-time favorite brews —stop by for a pint or a flight, whether you're flying solo (they've got free Wi-Fi) or joining friends for a full tasting experience. HIGHLANDS GOLF COURSE

The Highlands Golf Course is one of Tacoma's hidden gems, offering a fantastic short golf course designed for all skill levels. With a slogan of "half the time, twice the fun," the public nine-hole course can be completed in less than 75 minutes, making it a great fit for accomplished players to fine-tune their game, but where beginners aren't intimidated: You'll get nine legitimate hole-in-one opportunities in a single round.
